Locating Books in the Stacks

Print books are shelved upstairs in the Library by subject area. Each book has a label attached to the spine with an alphanumeric code, known as the call number. Biographies are shelved according to the category to which the subject belongs. For example, artists will be under N, musicians, under M, and politicians under J. The following suggests the call number ranges for this class:
