Books provide in-depth coverage of a specific topic. They may not include current information on a topic as the writing and publishing process takes time. The Library owns print, audio, and electronic book collections.

Search the RCC Library Catalog for books in the library's print collection.
Print books are shelved upstairs in the Library by subject area. Each book has a label attached to the spine with an alphanumeric code, known as the call number. The following suggests the call number ranges for this subject area:
E: History of the Americas
E 11 - 143: America
E 51 -73: Pre-Columbian America. The Indians
E 75 - 99: Indians of North America
E 101 - 135: Discovery of America and early explorations
E 151 - 889: United States
E 186 - 199: Colonial history (1607-1775)

Another good place to search for books is the WorldCat database. This searches for books that are in libraries worldwide. Any book not available at RCC can be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL).
