3 Ways to Use the Library

I know what you may be thinking - libraries are where you go if you need a book. While your thinking is not wrong, it fails to completely describe today's library. So what can you find at the RichmondCC Library?

Information

Academic libraries excel at providing information to users. The majority of our information supports the programs and classes taught at RichmondCC. But think outside the box. Need to buy a new car? Check out Consumer Reports, a nonprofit organization providing unbiased product ratings and reviews. We have the print and digital versions of it. Want to read to your younger children and/or siblings? Check out the library's Children's Collection. We have print books and an eReader for the 5 years or under crowd. Planning on traveling oversees for a mission trip, the military, or for fun? Try Mango Languages or Pronunciator, our two online learning language programs with access to over 70+ languages.

The library does not just buy items for our programs and classes. We also buy popular Fiction, Nonfiction, DVDS/Blue-Rays, and Audio-Books. We're working to create a library guide dedicated to these collections. Currently, we are revamping our paperback collection into a Book Swap. You bring in a paperback to replace a paperback you take from the collection. No fees or fines are associated with it. Once you have something to enjoy, you can find plenty of cozy spots in the library to relax. Or you can take something home with you to enjoy in your own space. Win-win!

Feeling overwhelmed? There are so many great resources at your disposal here at RichmondCC, including the Career & Transfer Center, Student Services, and the Academic Success Center. Here at the Library, we can help you with your research needs. Struggling to pick a topic for you paper or presentation? Need research for your assignment, but do not know how to find it? Found information, but not sure how to incorporate it into your assignment? Librarians can help you with all of these questions and more. Try out our Book-A-Librarian service, where you can get personalized help with your assignment.
